This unit was about classroom management and how to ensure that the teacher can keep control of the classroom, thus being able to teach effectively. The unit covered four major points: teacher vocal and body language, classroom layout, student grouping, and discipline. Each of these sections offered a variety of potential options for how to manage a classroom with each option having an appropriate time and place for use. An example from the section on classroom layout is knowing what different types of desk arrangements are available and when to use them. Knowing when to apply the different classroom management skills is important because it allows the teacher to better engage the students and keep them focused and learning.
