In this lesson, I learned how to both effectively and ineffectively run a typical class. I learned that the attitude of the teacher impacts the overall tone of the class in a huge way. Teachers need to look as if they enjoy their job, not scowl or act as if the class is a burden. The use of visuals as well as the use of miming is extremely effective when explaining things that the students may not understand. Allowing the students to have fun while being taught is also very effective in keeping their attention on the curriculum. It is also very helpful if the teacher learns the student’s names because it makes the students feel welcome and like they are important to their teacher, which can motivate them to participate.
