This unit focus on modals, phrasal verbs and passive voice. Modals can be used to express a number of different ideas and they are used before other verbs to add meaning to the main verb. Some of the ideas are; obligation, possibility, permission, ability and advice. I've learnt that modal verbs are unlike other verbs. They do not change their form and they have no infinitive or participle. Also, phrasal verbs are usually two-word phrases consisting of verb + adverb or verb + preposition. There are two voices in the English language and they are active and passive voices. Active voice describes a sentence where the subject performs the action stated by the verb. In passive voice sentences, the subject is acted upon by the verb.
