This unit offers information on testing and where it can be useful in a teacher's timeline for a semester. It seems to me that testing and evaluation is important every step of the way during a semester, from diagnostic testing (to see how proficient in English each student is and where individuals may struggle) to progress testing (to see how your lessons are being digested by the students/how tangible the teaching is for them and also to see where a certain student may need some extra help before moving to new topics). I also believe that as a teacher, it is important to show your students that you care how effective your teaching is, which can be accomplished by evaluations which allow the voices of your students to be heard.
