Managing a classroom is all about prioritizing the students' experience and learning. This can be done by building rapport between one another and the teacher, by using ice breakers, and engaging in an enthusiastic, positive way. Maximizing the student talk time is key, as well as using language as the teacher that fits the level of the students. It is also important to check in with students' progress individually, while allowing them some independent work and plenty of group work. Group or pair work will give students lots of talk time while allowing the teacher to monitor them on a closer level. Problem behavior can be dealt with in a way that does not take away class time, and should not focus on the student, just the behavior.
