Understanding the meaning of words within the vocabulary is crucial to ongoing development when teaching a new language. Students will need to master the meaning of a word, how and when to use it, where to use it, its interaction with other words and tense usage, sounding out the correct spelling and how it sounds. One area that I embrace for teaching is the use of materials such as a poster, an ad, pictures and other descriptive materials. here it can help the student to identify the word to the visual. I have also used the idea of sentence building in past classes which helps the student develop the proper tense, past present or future, and also activities that unjumble sentences help develop the written as well as the spoken word.
