This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This lesson is about how to present new language. For vocabulary, careful consideration should be given to which words are taught to the students. Vocabulary words should be appropriate to the students and the task, commonly used, and simple enough to be easily taught. Which grammatical structures are taught is usually defined by the course or textbook being used. Both new vocabulary and new grammar structures can be introduced effectively with ESA, using a \"straight arrow\" approach. The introduction of new functional language lends itself well to the use of ESA \"boomerang\" or \"patchwork\" lessons. Through this lesson, I learned that lesson plans should be varied to fit the type of language being introduced to the students.
