I have learnt from this unit that both the teacher and the learner require qualities which contribute to a 'good' learning environment. The teacher engaging the learner immediately providing relevant and fun activities, developing a good rapport,respect from the learner and showing care & patience provides opportunity for all learners to participate, engage and build confidence in asking questions and seeking knowledge and clarification from the teacher and the other learners in the classroom. I believe teaching English as a second language is a privilege and can provide the opportunity for learners to improve their own lives,their families lives and possibly the lives of the community. This unit has made me very excited to learn more.
