Managing Classes. A teacher can manage the classroom with eyes/voice and gestures. Class work can be organised in whole class, individuals or pairwork (small groups). classroom arrangements should consider how will it affect the classroom atmosphere, is it conducive to classroom control, will it allow for maximum STT, it is possible to do all planned activities. Seating can be arranged in rows, horseshoe or individual desks. When managing the class make sure the teacher is fair, punctual, well prepared, shows respect to students, is enthusiastic. When enforcing discipline the teacher should act immediately, use non verbal techniques, keep calm, keep within the school discipline code and use humour to dissipate problems wherever possible.
