This unit provides useful classroom management tools that every new teacher must be aware of. The unit starts with guidance regarding when and how to use eye contact, gesture and voice. Then, it was explained the different ways to group students and to arrange the classroom. There is no golden rule and the choice may depend on factors such as the class size or type of activity. Useful tips about writing on the board, giving individual attention and instructions, how to balance between Teaching and Student talking time and establish rapport were also provided. The unit ends with how to maintain discipline, even though some of the factors that affect discipline are not under the control of the teacher, others can be influenced by him or her.
