Having English as my primary language, I have already been exposed to much of this information. I taught the parts of speech to my first graders, and know that making a complete sentence can be both exciting and scary at the same time. Using pictures, initially, when forming simple sentences stimulate many ideas at once; especially when the pictures are ones the students choose for the assignment. Speaking and writing grammatically correct not only fosters a good understanding between the communicating parties, but raises the self-concept of the speaker(s) when the listener fully understands the thoughts and ideas. Proper speech breaks down invisible walls and bridges gaps between people. That is why is so important to communicate well.
