This unit was very straightforward since I learned a lot about ESA lesson plans from Unit 3. This was a bit more repetitive in giving examples for the engage, study, and activate phases, so I was comfortable identifying which activities and prompts are appropriate for each phase. For example, I learned from Unit 3 that gap-fill activities are generally used in the study phase because it tests the students' progress and understanding from their ability to fill the gaps correctly. Overall, I think that I have a fairly cohesive understanding of ESA lesson plans, whether it be Straight Arrow, Boomerang, or Patchwork. While going through this unit, I practiced by identifying the different activities that are appropriate for each phase in a lesson plan.
