I learned in this unit simple and obvious methods to hold the students' interest. The focus is mainly on having a convivial atmosphere where the students would be able to freely express themselves and not be afraid to make mistakes when expressing themselves. I believe in the same method. If the students have registered themselves voluntarily in a TEFL lesson, then motivation is already present. Then, I believe the teacher only has to show her expertise and do what she does best 'teach English', which is the reason what brought me to take up this course. However for young learners who may have been sent by their parents to learn, the teachers' task become more challenging in that they have to keep a variety of methods to hold the students' interest.
