This unit covers various aspects of pronunciation including intonation, stress, sound joining and the phonemic alphabet. I learnt that it is a challenging area of study for both teachers and students, and often neglected by teachers because of its challenges even to a native speaker. However, it is one of the areas of most difficulty for students, so an area that should be covered more in courses for teaching English. The videos are very helpful in understanding how to teach phonemes to students and the video, combined with the course material, helped to give me a good understanding of articulation and how the different parts of the mouth, lips and teeth are used for different sounds. I also learnt important teaching techniques for intonation and stress.
