This unit taught me about what objectives (Pronunciation, Spelling, Meaning, Use, Grammar etc.) to focus on when introducing new grammatical phenomena or vocabulary. Again, the combination of what should be conveyed in a lesson and how it can be done properly (by delivering complete lesson plans) was very helpful for designing my lessons. I particularly liked to see how the ?engage phase? is embedded in the lesson plans.Unit 5 is about the basic principles of lesson planning, including the reasons to plan a lesson, what to include in the planning process as well as how to produce a practical and easy to use lesson plan. The Unit provided me with an example of a Straight Arrow ESA lesson plan so I could see how to implement the learned theory. I have also learned how to monitor my lessons and I was given an example of a Self Evaluation Form.
