Phonology is the study, science, analysis and classification of the physical properties of sound. This unit covers the intonation and stress within sentences along with common sound joining uses. The International Phonemic Alphabet is shown here and used to differentiate from spelling and sound. There is more importance here on pronunciation than spelling. The phonemes are grouped together in chart position, order and highlighted (voiced/unvoiced) to emphasize sound types and the production process of these physically. My favorite line from this unit was students should \"feel the music of the language and add stress naturally\". I hope to apply this within my Phonology inclusive lessons. I found the area about when to teach this topic very useful too. Personally, I would try and incorporate it consistently within lessons in order to reduce confusion and make more familiar while learning rather than a one-off lesson.
