This unit covers the aspect of teaching new language. This includes new vocabulary, grammar structures, and language functions. I have learnt what to consider when choosing new vocabulary to teach, such as the appropriacy of the language to the students and the task. I have learnt what things the students need to learn about new grammar structures, such as the different forms and patterns. I have also learnt about different language functions, such as inviting and refusing, which has encouraged me to think about ways of teaching these functions. Using the task sheet, I am improving my lesson planning, particularly thinking about different ESA lesson structures, and their appropriacy for the language point and objective of the lesson. Planning lessons is also making me think about which activities are suitable for each phase of the lesson.
