In this unit, we get to see the different types of testing we have available. There are many types: from tutorials to students evaluations to actual tests. The actual tests (written, multiple choice or oral) are also divided into different categories, ranging from placement and diagnostic tests to general examinations. As it's often the case, we as teachers need to be able to see the progress our students are making, and there is no easier way from doing this than with tests. These tests don't have to be a burden to the students, but a chance for them (and us) to learn what they are getting from their class as well as check that there are no misconceptions or niggling doubts.
